With the snow covering most of the inland and some parts of the coast, Croatia becomes a top destination to visit during Christmas time. If you don’t know where to go, we’ve gathered some of the best places to visit:

Zagreb – Advent in Zagreb has become a tradition that has been recognized in the international tourist environment. This year Lonely Planet has selected Zagreb as the top destination to visit
Also, Zagreb has been selected as the best Christmas market for the third year by the European best destinations web site, giving it a special flare to the already colourful city.

Istria – with the colourful lights, mulled wine, smell of gingerbread and open markets with local products, a cosy feel of the coast line can make the wonderful Advent a magical story to tell.
For children activities, there’s always a full day program in Dinopark with special surprises and lighted dinosaurs that children will adore. A full unique experience for the whole family is prepared especially for Christmas time.

Don’t miss

Other Istrian cities, like Rabac, Vrsar, Medulin or Opatija, all prepare Christmas markets that you can enjoy in a bit smaller scale then Zagreb. But that doesn’t mean they’re less special, Santa took care that the whole Christmas magic spreads throughout Croatia.
